The Starfish Throwers is the final film of three films around the theme of Food, the universal source of life and pleasure. All over the world, people are suffering from great hunger and malnutrition. It is the Committee's hope that exploring the issues of food access, food production and the relationship of communities to food might inspire people to re-examine their relationship to food and each other.

It was dubbed “The Most Heartwarming Film of 2014” by the Huffington Post

The Starfish Throwers is the award-winning story of three extraordinary people in the US and India who have found ways to care for their less fortunate neighbors. This inspiring 53-minute documentary tells the tale of these remarkable individuals and the unexpected challenges they face. Despite constantly being reminded that hunger is too big for one person to solve, they persevere and see their impact ripple further than their individual actions.

Seeds of Solidarity Director, Deb Habib, will lead our discussion. With a motto of "Grow Food Everywhere, Seeds of Solidarity helps people in the Orange area grow their own food for health, independence and resilience.
